Florida Man Admits To Killing Mother After Argument Over Orange Juice & Air Conditioner Remote
A South Florida man, accused of killing his own mother, has confessed to investigators, claiming that he “lost it” after an argument over orange juice, the air conditioner remote and the use of her car, which he wanted to use to search for jobs on Labor Day.
Police have charged 29-year-old Luis Martin Pages with one count of second-degree murder after the Sunday evening death of his 59-year-old mother, Miriam Gonzalez, at their North Miami Beach home. On officers’ arrival, Gonzalez was dead, and Pages allegedly told them, “I killed her. Take me to jail.” The incident occurred after an argument over OJ, the AC remote and Pages’ request to use his mother’s car to look for jobs.

During questioning, Pages told detectives that the argument escalated after his mother denied him use of her car, as it was Labor Day. He adds that his mother proceeded to hold up a pink knife, threatening him. In response, he pulled out a handgun and shot her multiple times. The police report says Pages didn’t know how many times he fired the weapon at his mother, but knew he let off at least six bullets — which he always kept in the gun — after he tried to turn the weapon on himself. After realizing, he hysterically called 911 to confess.
