Florida Governor To Sign ‘Anti-Riot’ Bill In Wake Of Black Lives Matter Protests
After drafting a bill in November 2020 to allow people to shoot “looters and rioters,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has now been sent an “anti-riot” bill to sign from Senate in wake of the several, recent Black Lives Matter protests.
On Thursday, the Florida Senate passed a controversial anti-protest bill that will increase criminal penalties for assaulting law enforcement officials and defacing monuments and other public properties during a “riot.”

Also, per NBC News, the bill would penalize local governments that interfere with law enforcement efforts to contain riots and set up a citizen’s appeal process when cities and counties try to reduce police budgets in response to riots. The news site says the final vote in the Senate was 23-17, with on Republican voting with Democrats in opposition. #Socialites, thoughts?
