Florida Ex-Con Scams Woman He Met Online For $3K, Then Asks For Nudes
An Orlando, Florida ex-con has found his way back to trouble after meeting a woman online, whom he scammed $3,000 out of, and proceeded to ask for nudes from.
Police say Michael William McDougal, 35, who was convicted of fraud in 2015, posed as a man named Michael Reynolds on Plenty of Fish. After meeting the unnamed woman, the two took their conversation to Facebook, where McDougal asked to borrow $1,000 after “losing his bank card.”

Over the course of several days, the woman lent him $3,000, which he promised to pay back. Once the woman caught on to the scam, the suspect used his real name to clear up “confusion” about his alter ego, claiming he’d cover the victim’s losses. He then offered to pay her $5,000 if she sent nude photos to his cousin, which she agreed.
McDougal proceed to ask for more money, then threatened he’d report her to the police for sending nudes to an underage teen, claiming his cousin was 16. The woman eventually went to police in early February to report the scam.
