Courtney Wilson and Shenita James attempted to throw their wedding at the 7.2-acre property and sent out invites telling their guests to celebrate at their “dream home” for the April 17 ceremony and a Sunday brunch the day after. However, the actual owner of the mansion, IHOP heir Nathan Finkel, showed up at the property on the day of the wedding and contacted police stating he did not give the couple permission to host their wedding.
Finkel explained to police that Wilson allegedly pretended to be a prospective buyer for the home and visited several times weeks before the wedding. Town Attorney Keith Poliakoff said Wilson asked Finkel if he could host the ceremony on the property but he said no and despite the rejection, the couple created a wedding website and called the property ‘The Wilson’s Estate’ on wedding invitations.

After were called, Finkel added that the couple told them that it was “God’s message” to have their wedding on the estate: ‘And they keep harassing me, calling me. They say they’re having a wedding here and it’s God’s message. I don’t know what’s going on. All I want is [for] it to stop. And they’re sitting at my property right at the front gate right now,’ the 911 call transcript said.
The couple was not charged for trespassing but officers told Wilson that he and James were not allowed back on the property.
