British singer FKA Twigs is lifting the lid on why she decided to take legal action against her ex-boyfriend, actor Shia LaBeouf, whom she accused of “relentless” abuse during their one-year relationship. According to her explosive lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in December 2020, Shia is alleged to have inflicted emotional distress on his former flame, along with sexual battery, assault, and transmitting her with a sexually transmitted disease which he allegedly covered up using make-up while they were dating.
She had previously described her romance with Shia as being a “living nightmare,” which began shortly after filming the 2019 movie “Honey Boy” together. From claiming that the actor would request her to sleep naked in bed to violent outbursts and threatening to crash the vehicle if she didn’t profess her love for him as he sped up the car in an accelerated manner.
I’m hoping that FKA Twigs case against Shia LaBeouf is streamed.

In a new interview with GQ Magazine, FKA said it was important for her to come forward and speak out on what she alleged to have happened to her while dating Shia, who has strongly denied any wrongdoing. “I just didn’t want anyone else to get hurt, and that trumped any way that I felt about what people may think about me now, positively or negatively,” she said.
The 34-year-old further stressed that to come forward about such a personal topic was vital not just for her but also for her future children, whom she hopes can draw inspiration from their mother on serious matters as such. She can look back at this horrific time in her life and know that “I stood up for myself,” which also led her to join the Sistah Space organization.
Sistah Space helps survivors of domestic abuse with resources to keep them safe, with a particular focus on people of African heritage. “If I ever have children, I want them to know that I stood up for myself, and that’s important. And sometimes, standing up for yourself is messy,” FKA added.

“Sometimes it can cause more trauma, and sometimes it can be dividing. People don’t expect you to stand up for yourself, but I did and I’m proud of it, and what happened to me wasn’t right.”
It was reported back in May that a trial date for Shia and FKA had been set for April 17, 2023, according to Rolling Stone. Court papers filed by FKA, whose real name is Tahlilah Barnett, also claimed that Shia became much more controlling the longer the relationship continued, having recalled one incident where he is said to have “strangled” her before shoving her to the floor outside of a hotel they visited on Valentine’s Day.
