The stars came out on Friday to support French Montana and his new documentary titled “For Khadija” at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.

While chopping it up with Fivio Foreign, he told us why it was important for him to come out and show love to French. He said, “It feels good to support another New Yorker, another man that I’ve seen from when I was a kid. I looked up to him so I’m definitely on fan timing.” Before heading into the screening, he said he’s “Definitely here to learn what I can learn. I’m here to learn everything.”

Of course while on the red carpet, we asked Fivio about some of the latest headlines. As many are aware, fellow entertainer YK Osiris has been receiving massive backlash after a now-viral video showed him kissing Sukihana without consent. Asking if he had any advice for the young entertainer, Fivio said, “Just as a Black man in America and how our Black women are portrayed, you always got to be delicate.” Fivo continued saying when it comes to things like that, “You got to be able to overread. Now, I don’t want to put another Black man down, but I feel for her and I got daughters. So you just got to read the room.”

Following the awkward kissing moment, Sukihana tweeted that she was “hurt and scared to stand up for myself.” Fivio also offered some advice for the ladies while speaking with Hollywood Unlocked. “For the females out here too, don’t be scared. Be stern. Don’t make yourself unreadable,” he said.

YK Osiris has apologized twice to the female rap star. In an Instagram Story post, he said, “I want to publicly offer my sincerest apology to Sukihana. In an attempt to be playful, I misread the moment and violated Sukiahan’s boundaries. I understand the importance of consent and I am embarrassed by my behavior. I take full responsibility and have made multiple attempts to apologize. I have the most admiration for Sukihana and it was never my intention to disrespect.” He followed up with another IG Story post where he shared that “he needs help fr 🙏🏽.”

Sukihana ultimately accepted his apology and said she was not here to tear another Black man down.

“I want to first say thank you to everyone who has reached out, your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed. I would like to address the event that took place on Saturday, as well as, the aftermath surrounding such.”

She continued, “First, I want to acknowledge that YK Osiris has apologized to me both privately and publicly and I have chosen to accept his apology. God always forgives me and I can always forgive others. My accepting his apology is not my excusing or lessening the severity of his actions. This is Destiny choosing to give grace to Osiris. He is young. It is my prayer that this experience will cause him and others to be more mindful and respect the personal boundaries of others. I am human, a woman, a mother and daughter before I am an entertainer. No matter what my lyrics express, I still have boundaries and a right to have them.”

Before concluding her post she added, “Again, I have accepted his apology and am working towards getting back to my life. I am giving YK the grace and forgiveness that I wanted to be given to me as I was discovering and defining myself on this very public and sometimes unforgiving entertainment platform. Thank you again. I deeply appreciate your support.”
