First Responder Cited For Son’s Viral House Party In Chicago

A Chicago woman was issued a citation from the city after her son threw a massive house party that went viral over the weekend.

According to NBC 5, the unnamed woman was issued the citation on Monday and said she did not know about the party until hours later when police arrived at the home. She worked a 24-hour shift when her son threw the infamous party.  The homeowner also said she was furious when she found out the news because they have been practicing social distancing due to the risks associated with her job.

“I came home, my house was clean, nothing was out of place,” she said. “And after that, some police came to my house and said, ‘Were you aware that it was a party at your house?’ And I was like, ‘No, I wasn’t aware.’ And then they showed me the video. I haven’t seen my family in two months because I don’t want.. because of my job I don’t want to expose them to anything,” she said. “So if I’m doing social distancing, then I most definitely don’t condone this type of behavior.”

Janeal White, the 26-year-old who threw the party, says he knew his mother would be at work and decided to invite 20 to 30 to celebrate the lives of two friends who killed due to gun violence. He also deactivated the home’s video doorbell system so his mother wouldn’t be notified.

“It really hasn’t been hitting home for us like that, but now I see the error of everything.”

The Chicago Department of Public Health was ordered to follow up on the party to make follow up protocols.
