First Case Of New COVID-19 Strain Found In Colorado

The United States’ first case of the mutated COVID-19 strain has been found in Colorado.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced on. his official Twitter page that a patient is a young man in his 20s who lives in Elbert County. However, he warned that the new strain is very contagious as per reports from scientists in the United Kingdom. Currently, the man is in isolation and has no close contacts so far.

“We are working to prevent spread and contain the virus at all levels. I want to thank our scientists and dedicated medical professionals for their swift work and ask Coloradans to continue our efforts to prevent disease transmission by wearing masks, standing six feet apart when gathering with others, and only interacting with members of their immediate household.”

Prior to this announcement, White House testing czar Brett Giroir claimed that the new strain was most likely already in the United States.
