Raul Garcia-Santos was 200 miles away when his family was killed in their new home on August 27 around 1 am. Deputies reported the single-wide trailer was engulfed in flames after arriving at Green Acres Mobile Home and RV Park in Benton City. The deceased were identified as Marcaria Garcia-Martinez,32, and her daughters Luz Garcia-Martinez,17, and Michelle Garcia-Martinez, 6, and son Luis Garcia-Martinez, 15. As reported by CNN, all four died from asphyxia due to smoke inhalation and witnesses said the blaze was so big that another home caught on fire.
Investigators also reported that the family just moved on that same day but the fire started during their first evening in the home. They believed the cause was due to an overloaded circuit and there were no working smoke detectors in the home.

‘At this time it appears the fire started at the front or west end of the trailer where the kitchen/living room area was located, however the cause of the fire is still undetermined,’
A GoFundMe was created to help cover the funeral expenses for Raul’s wife and three children. It currently reached $28,000 after the campaign asked for $25,000.
