WTF?! Recently fired ESPN host Mark Jackson was offered a $1 million opportunity to provide play-by-play analyses for adult site CamSoda.
On Monday (July 31), the former NBA player and Golden State Warriors coach took to his social media and announced that he was “unexpectedly” let go from ESPN. However, his termination arrived amid a round of layoffs at the network. Along with fired host Jeff Van Gundy, he and Jackson will reportedly be replaced by Doris Burke and Doc Rivers, respectively.
Jackson’s statement read, “This morning, unexpectedly, I was informed that my services were no longer needed at ESPN. Although shocked and dismayed with the suddenness of it all, I would like to thank ESPN and all the staff of the NBA ESPN crew for allowing me to be part of the organization for the past 15+ years. I would also like to thank the NBA fans watching at home and in the arenas throughout the league for all of your support. To the NBA, a heartfelt thank you for allowing a kid to continue to accomplish his dreams.”
The longtime announcer continued,“It has been an honor to sit beside two LEGENDS in the business, who are like brothers to me, Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy, and learn so much from them. Lisa Salters is a GOAT and like a sister to me and I’m so proud of the work she continues to do. To the best producer in the world, and my friend, Tim Corrigan, I give the utmost thanks and gratitude and thanks for always inspiring and supporting me. To all of the staff and crew, that may have never been seen on camera…please know that you were always seen by me and so greatly appreciated.”
Jackson added, “Finally, I wish greater measures of success to the new ESPN team. May they continue to elevate this game that has given me a home and a life. I leave ESPN with nothing but gratitude, all the while knowing that my highest praise goes to God! Through it all, He has always sustained me and His grace allows me to know that there are greater blessings ahead. I look forward to what He has in store next.”
Following the news of Jackson’s unexpected termination as a sports analyst, he received an unexpected offer to become a play-by-play analyst during live cam shows at adult webcam site CamSoda.
CamSoda’s Vice President, Daryn Parker, penned a shocking letter to the fired ESPN host. It began, “Dear Mark Jackson: My condolences on being laid off by ESPN and vacating your role as an NBA analyst at the worldwide leader in sports. Now that you’re out of a job and in search of work, I’d like to formally extend you an offer. We here at CamSoda – an adult webcam site – would like to hire you as the company’s first-ever play-by-play announcer for adult cam shows.”
Parker continued, “You’d call private cam sessions just like you had been calling NBA games, commentating on the action playing out in front of your very eyes. You can even use your catchphrase, “Grown Man Move” for sensational moments during couples shows when the man bangs down low and goes strong to the hole.”
CamSoda’s VP then put the cherry on top and said, “In return for hiring you as CamSoda’s play-by-play announcer – a role you would have to serve for one full year – we’d be willing to compensate you up to $1,000,000. Please take some time to consider my offer. I’d like to get you back on the mic and calling the…action…ASAP.“
