On Friday, artist Ferg unleashed his creative vision alongside Adidas to celebrate the opening of the brand’s newly opened SoHo flagship during New York Fashion Week. The experience, titled “Ferg and Friends,” transformed the store into an immersive cultural space that blended art, music, and community. Instead of a typical retail launch, the night felt like a living exhibition rooted in Harlem energy and creative freedom.
“Me vs. Me” Takes Over the Space
At the heart of the activation was Ferg’s self-painted artwork, Me vs. Me, which reflects three versions of a runner racing against himself. The artwork appeared on dressing room curtains, pillow cushions, and bespoke tote bags that were distributed to attendees and sold throughout the weekend.
Ferg explained the meaning behind the piece in his own words:
“My artwork ‘ME VS. ME’ is about the struggle we all face — it’s not us against the world, it’s us against ourselves. I was inspired by my friend Kwasi Kessie running a marathon, which led to the abstract depiction of three versions of a figure running, each racing against themselves in the marathon of life”
The message resonated deeply with guests, especially during a week dedicated to style, ambition, and reinvention.
Spotlighting Harlem and NYC Talent
The night didn’t stop at visual art. It also featured live performances from rising New York and Harlem talent, including HUNTER BDM, Fergie Baby, and TGUT.
Ferg’s curation underscored his ongoing commitment to uplifting local creatives. That mission has also been amplified by his recent viral collaboration with Fergie Baby, “Good Day to Be in Harlem,” which has quickly grown into a neighborhood anthem. By blending fashion, music, and art under one roof, Ferg turned Adidas’ SoHo flagship into more than a store. It became a cultural moment that reflected both personal growth and collective pride.
As Fashion Week continues to spotlight global style, Ferg made sure Harlem’s voice stayed front and center.
