Feds have arrested an Arizona man for allegedly threatening to “kidnap, torture, shoot, and bury” president-elect Donald Trump in “numerous lengthy videos” shared to Facebook.

Authorities said in a video posted to Facebook last Thursday (November 21), an Arizona man named Manuel Tamayo-Torres made “vague yet direct threats” toward the president-elect, his family, and law enforcement agents. Tamayo-Torres allegedly made a threat and said, “I’m going to [expletive] bury you myself, [Trump]. If they give me a chance to bury you, to kill you, murder you, [Trump], I’ll torture you, and break you in the system.”

According to court records in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Manuel Tamayo-Torres was arrested four days later on Monday (November 25) near San Diego. Court documents revealed that the Arizona man was charged with one count of making threats against Donald Trump in “numerous lengthy” videos on Facebook, and he was also charged with making false statements during the purchase of a firearm.

Court records claim that when he tried to buy a gun, he lied on a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives form when he said he hadn’t been convicted of a felony and didn’t have a court order “restraining him from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner.”

The Federal Defenders of San Diego’s office has been appointed to represent Tamayo-Torres, who authorities learned has a prior criminal history. Reportedly, in 2003, he was convicted of assault with great bodily injury in San Diego and sentenced to six years in prison. The Arizona man is also prohibited from contacting his ex-wife after she was granted a protection order against him in Arizona back in July 2023.

Officials said that Tamayo-Torres posted threatening videos “on a near-daily basis where he talks about [Donald Trump] and his family,” and accuses them of “kidnapping and sex-trafficking his children.” Authorities accuse the Arizona man of also threatening Trump and stating, “You’re gonna die. Your son’s gonna die. Your whole family is going to die. This is reality for you now. This is the only reality you have in your future, dying.” He allegedly added, “The Secret Service, FBI, CIA, and the military are all defenseless, off the books.”

A week before the alleged November 21 Facebook video, Tamayo-Torres allegedly posted a video threatening Donald Trump and holding a rifle. A criminal complaint said that on November 13, aside from wanting to allegedly “kidnap, torture, and bury” Donald Trump, the Arizona man allegedly threatened to shoot him while wielding, what court documents described as “what appeared to be a white AR-15 style rifle with a 30-round magazine inserted into it.”

Authorities also said that the Arizona man allegedly recorded one of his threatening videos while attending a Donald Trump campaign rally at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on August 23. A month before this rally, Trump survived a bullet grazing his ear in a failed assassination attempt during another campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
