Federal Government Executes The First Woman In Nearly 70 Years
The womb-raider, Lisa Montgomery, 52, was finally executed by lethal injection at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Wednesday. She is the first woman to be executed in 70 years.
She is the 11th federal death row inmate to be executed by the Trump administration.
“The craven bloodlust of a failed administration was on full display tonight,” Montgomery’s attorney, Kelley Henry said in a statement. “Everyone who participated in the execution of Lisa Montgomery should feel shame.”
“The government stopped at nothing in its zeal to kill this damaged and delusional woman,” Henry added. “Lisa Montgomery’s execution was far from justice.”

Her lawyers had tried to stop the execution claiming that she was incompetent.
In 2004, Montgomery claimed that she was pregnant and met up with Bobbie Jo Stinnett, under the pretense of buying a dog. After meeting Stinnett, she strangled her, used a knife to cut her abdomen and removed the fetus, then claimed the baby as her own. The child survived and turned 16 on the anniversary of her mother’s death.
Montgomery’s attorneys claimed the repeated physical and sexual abuse she endured as a child warranted some leniency.
