Sports fans are disappointed in Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant who has been suspended from team activities for the second time. As previously reported, an Instagram Live video showed him flashing a gun while in a vehicle with others… just two months after the athlete was suspended over a similar video.
The Grizzlies announced his suspension on Twitter over the weekend, saying, “We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant. He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.” As of right now, it is still unclear when or where the video was shot. Morant or his representative have not yet publicly commented on this latest situation. However, fans and celebrities have been reacting online.
Fat Joe hopped on Instagram Live to weigh in and he believes Morant needs to get some new friends if he wants to continue playing basketball professionally. “He’s trying hard to get kicked out the NBA,” Joey Crack said. “Those guys that’s with you, they not your peoples, Ja. They don’t care. This is a problem we have with our community becoming famous.”
He continued, “Because the people around you, they like that the girls is watching, they love the lifestyle, but they’re not you. They didn’t dribble the basketball in the snow on Christmas trying to figure out the Kobe moves, or the Jordan moves. They didn’t put in the work like you.”
Fat Joe went on to say, “Guess what? If you get thrown out of the NBA, these are the same guys who are going to say, ‘Yo, he wasn’t sh*t anyway.’ Ja they are not your people,” he insisted. “Anybody pointing you in the direction of ignorance is not with you.”

This is not the first time the New York rapper gave Morant some tough love. Back in March when the young athlete was suspended after being filmed flashing a gun in a strip club, Fat Joe also called him out as well as his father. He said at the time,
“Ja Morant always got his father there,” the Bronx MC said on Instagram Live. “Instead of his father enjoying the scene and getting drunk at the game, he better school his son.” Speaking more on the crowd Morant hangs around, Joe added, “Bro, you did not come this far to f**k your sh*t up,” the Terror Squad leader said. “Your family has to really be your family and talk to you. I hope somebody gets him a copy of this because I don’t make money off Ja Morant. I’m just telling you the truth.” Before ending his rant he said, “There’s two ways this could go: you could keep it real, which is the dumbest sh*t I ever heard in my life, and go broke and get the f**k out the NBA because they’re not going for an NBA player pistol whipping dudes — they not going for that.”
