Lawd! Fat Joe is calling Irv Gotti a “sucka,” and blasting Ja Rule for keeping quiet! While Irv recently went on ‘Drink Champs’ to promote his new BET documentary, he aired out Ashanti, claiming they had a sexual relationship and that their romance “helped her career.”
Irv Gotti Claims His Sexual Relationship With Ashanti ‘Helped’ Her Career
Over the weekend, we shared a clip from the viral interview, and Irv claimed that he bought Ashanti this, that and third and recalled a time when they allegedly “just finished sleeping together,” he came up with the foundation of her hit “Happy.”
In the clip, ‘Drink Champs‘ host Noreaga aka N.O.R.E. asks Irv if his romantic relationship with Ashanti ever got in the way of them doing business together.
Irv proudly responds back, “It helped her.” Irv goes on to explain how Ashanti’s big single “Happy” was proof that them being an item did good for her music career.
Irv says, “So, ‘Happy,’ let me explain how the lyrics and how I worked her… So, we’re together.”
N.O.R.E. interrupts and asks Irv if he had ever bought the singer a matching watch or designer bags, etc. Irv says, “I bought her mad sh*t.”
In the background, Irv’s other artist and Ashanti’s former label-mate Ja Rule, makes it be known that he had no idea about any of what Irv was talking about.
Continuing his story, Irv says, “We just finished sleeping together, or whatever, I’m taking a shower. I’m in the shower, you know, a n***a be creative after [sex] … I think of the whole track in the shower … The energy, that record came about ’cause of our energy.”

Throughout the interview, Irv continues to bring Ashanti up, and Ja Rule, her Murder Inc. label-mate, kept making it be known that he had no idea about her and Irv’s relationship. Which is a point Fat Joe mentions in his live — where he blasted Ja and Irv.
During his live, Fat Joe begins by calling Irv a “sucka” after having seen his interivew. Joe then goes on to say that he had no idea about Irv and Ashanti sleeping together.
They had all been around each other working on songs and touring, and he never knew they were an item. However, he does fess up to hearing about the rumors.
Despite the streets talking, Joe affirms that Irv and Ashanti’s business is their business, and that Irv should not be still brining things up from 20 years ago, if he has moved on, so he has been saying.
