Family Sues Doctor After DNA Test Shows Adult IVF Baby Isn’t Related To Her Dad
#Socialites check this out an Ohio couple is suing a fertility doctor after it was discovered that their adult daughter was fathered by a stranger due to an alleged incorrect insemination process.
Per the lawsuit, Jeanine and John “Mike” Harvey discovered that their daughter Jessica is not biologically related to her father following a recent DNA test.
The suit alleges that Dr. Nicholas Spirtos and Summa Health System are guilty of malpractice, negligence, and fraud because they reportedly failed to “properly collect” and “safeguard” John’s specimen.
“About 30 years ago my husband and I went to see a fertility doctor for help-seeking a baby,” Jeanine said during a press conference. “Our goal couldn’t have been clearer. We wanted a child who is genetically related to both of us. I underwent the in vitro fertilization with the understanding that Mike’s genetic materials would be used in this procedure. Without our knowledge, Dr. Spirtos used a stranger’s sperm.”

Jessica thought that her test should show that she was Italian like her father, but instead found that she was of Irish, English, German, Welsh and French descent!
“At this point, we have not met with the family or conducted testing of our own. Given the very limited information that we have and the amount of time that has passed, it remains our hope that the attorneys representing the family will work with us to make that next step a priority,” Mike Bernstein, system director of Corporate Communications for Summa Health System said per NY POST.
