Family Seeks Answers After A Gym Patron Gives Their Son Fentanyl For An Injury & He Dies

A Palmdale, California family is seeking answers for the death of their son who died after a gym patron gave him Fentanyl, claiming that it was Oxycodone and that it would help with the pain from an injury.

Jordan Erickson, who was just 22-years-old had injured himself lifting at Lock It Out Barbell gym on December 31st. Erickson thought his ankle was broken from the $700lb weight that had fallen on him. According to sources, someone at the facility approached him with some Oxycodone for his pain.

However, the next day he was found dead at home, and his toxicology report notes that it was actually Fentanyl, which can be lethal. The report currently lists his death as accidental and closed, however, his family wants the person who provided the drugs to be brought to justice so that it doesn’t happen again.

As of now, the gym has not commented.
