Family Of Slain IG Model Miss Mercedes Morr Thanks Cardi B For Using Her Platform To Highlight Her Story — Gets Invited To Memorial Service
One thing about Cardi B, she’s going to use her platform to speak on important topics.
The rap star recently took to social media to highlight the tragic story of Mercedes Morr — the popular influencer/ model who was sadly killed in an apparent murder-suicide last month. Her killer, who is also dead had been identified as 34-year-old Kevin Alexander Accorto.
As the news broke about Mercedes, full details were not out yet which made people speculate; with many trying to figure out the connection Mercedes might’ve had with Kevin. However, Cardi quickly defended Mercedes online after some folks even tried to blame the model for her own death! Cardi said on Instagram, “So sad and f*ck you b*tches and nikkas trying to justify it ‘cause of her lifestyle. Y’all will hate on a bad b*tch dead or alive.” Before concluding Cardi added, “She was a sweetheart.” The family told TMZ that Mercedes was a huge fan of Cardi and they reached out privately to the rapper to extend an invite to the memorial service.
The family says there’s absolutely no pressure on Cardi to attend as they understand she’s a busy woman and they’re just thankful Cardi brought awareness to the case, TMZ notes.
So far, officials don’t think that Accorto and Mercedes — real name Jenae Gagnier — knew each other. Her family believes that Accorto was a crazed follower who stalked her. It was noted that when cops came to her home authorities found that someone wrote all over the walls in lipstick, professing love for her. Investigators said she was strangled to death before being pushed down the stairs.
“Now we have to get used to life without her, and that makes your heart heavy,” her mother, Jeanetta Grover, said.
