Family Of 9-Year-Old Astroworld Victim Declines Travis Scott’s Offer To Pay Funeral Costs

The family of the youngest victim of the Astroworld disaster has refused rapper Travis Scott’s proposal to cover the nine-year-old’s funeral costs in a heartbreaking letter.

Ezra Blount was laid to rest on November 23, a day prior to when the offer was brought to his family via Scott’s lawyer, Daniel Petrocelli.

“Your client’s offer is declined,” a reaction from Blount family lawyer Bob Hilliard read, according to Rolling Stone. “I have no doubt Mr Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy.”

Scott’s attorney Daneil Petrocelli, sent a letter with the offer stating, “Travis is devastated by the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival and grieves for the families whose loved ones died or were injured,” Petrocelli wrote. “Travis is committed to doing his part to help the families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing in the Houston community. Toward that end, Travis would like to pay for the funeral expenses for Mr. Blount’s son.

As we previously reported,Travis Scott, Drake, Apple, Live Nation and others were hit with an enormous $750 million lawsuit taken against them by more than 125 fans, involving the family of one who died at the festival.
