Family Of 6 & 2 Pets Found Dead In SUV Parked In Garage In San Antonio
In San Antonio, Texas, a family of six was found dead in their SUV parked inside the garage of a home in the Heights of Stone Oak. Local law enforcement have initially ruled the incident as an apparent murder-suicide.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus says after his officers made entry into the home after hours of caution — resulting from “a heavy, noxious fume came from inside” confirmed later as carbon monoxide. Upon entry, they discovered the bodies of a 38-year-old husband, identified as Jared Esquibel Harless, his 36-year-old wife, 11-month-old boy, 1-year-old girl, 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. The family pets, two cats, were also in the SUV, deceased.
McManus adds that they initially arrived for a welfare check, as the man, a military service member, did not report to work. Upon their arrival, officers noticed shattered windows to the home, car chairs left in the driveway, and a cryptic note, in “military jargon,” stating there were bodies inside and not to enter.
