Families Affected By YNW Melly Shooting Want Him To Stay In Jail With COVID-19
As we previously reported, rapper YNW Melly was one of many jailed entertainers who begged to be released from prison amid the coronavirus pandemic. While fellow rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine managed to get out the slammer, Melly is still stuck behind bars where he’s awaiting trial in his double murder case.

Now, according to his team, Melly has tested positive for COVID-19, which is why he is begging to be released. Despite that, the families who have been affected by the double murder shooting want him to stay behind bars.
According to new docs obtained by TMZ, the family of one the alleged victims, Christopher Thomas, says Melly should NOT be let out because they fear he’ll be a threat to them and other witnesses. Meanwhile, the family of Anthony Williams, the other alleged victim doesn’t deserve to be let out early. The Williams family’s attorneys at Steinger, Greene & Feiner told the news site:
“While our firm and the family of Anthony Williams sympathize with anyone affected by COVID-19, we do not believe this justifies pretrial release. He needs to remain in custody until a jury decides his fate.”
