Facebook Announces “Quiet Mode” Feature To Help Users Cope With Quarantine

Facebook has announced a new feature on its app to help its users deal with quarantine. The “Quiet Mode” helps people take a break from the app when they are feeling overwhelmed by their newsfeed or notifications.

The Daily Mail reports Facebook’s Quiet Mode will help users take a break from constant notifications and updates. Similar to Apple’s Screen Time, the feature allows users to schedule a time when they want to use the app and silence notifications when they need to take a break.

Their blog post also states that the main focus in their users’ mental health since many are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and are providing tools to enforce healthy coping mechanisms:

The feature will be available for Apple users in May and Android users will recieve the update in June.
