Ex-NBA Star Ben Gordon Arrested On His 40th Birthday After Allegedly Being In Possession Of Pocketknife, Stun Gun, And Brass Knuckles

Looks like Ben Gordon has found himself back in trouble again. The former Chicago Bull player was taken into custody on his 40th birthday, Tuesday, April 4th after someone contacted 911 saying he was “acting aggressively and in a bizarre manner.”

According to FoxNews, the former ball player was at a Connecticut juice shop when he started acting out. Authorities arrived to the scene and attempted to arrest him. After having a long tussle to get him under control police say they allegedly found a pocket knife, a stun and brass knuckles in his book bag.

He was later charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree threatening and interfering with an officer. Being that this isn’t the first time he has found himself behind bars, police sent him to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation. He was later released that day after posting a $10,000 bond.

Gordon was taken into custody on his birthday and fans noticed how he played for UCON before going to the NBA and his alma mater just won’ the national title in March Madness on Monday.

As we previously reported, Ben Gordon was arrested before after he allegedly punched his son in the face MULTIPLE times because the child dropped a book while traveling at NYC’s LaGuardia Airport.

The criminal complaint stated that the incident went down on Monday at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. An American Airlines employee told police she witnessed the former shooting guard punching the boy and yelling at him after he accidentally dropped a book on the floor. As a result, Gordon was arrested and charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree, criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal contempt in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and attempted assault in the third degree, the New York Post reported. During his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court, it was shared that Gordon also allegedly resisted arrest during the incident and injured two Port Authority officers in the process. To make matters worse, it was noted that he allegedly violated an order of protection that is already in place for his son.

Gordon’s son was reportedly taken to Long Island Jewish Children’s Hospital, where he was treated, police said. Judge Edwin Novillo set his bail at $20,000 cash or $50,000 partially secured bond at 10%. The news site reports that he was unable to immediately post bail and had to spend the night at Rikers Island. However, he posted bail the next morning.

Gordon’s son Elijah was identified by the Daily Mail. The former athlete shares the child with ex-fiancé Sascha Smith.
