Ex Baseball Player Kills Black Father And Two Others Because He ‘Hated Being Black’

A former baseball player has been convicted on a triple homicide charge after killing his black father and two others because he allegedly hated being black.

Brandon Willie Martin, 27, was found guilty for murdering Michael Martin, 64, his uncle Ricky Lee Anderson, 51, and Barry Swanson, 62, with a baseball bat.

“The jury found Martin guilty of first-degree murder and found the special circumstance of multiple murders to be true,” the DA’s office said in a statement.

On Sept. 17, 2015, the three men were beaten to death with a black wooden baseball bat engraved with Brandon Martin’s name. Michael Martin and Barry Swanson died at the scene and Ricky Andersen died two days later at the hospital.

Per court documents, Martin reportedly “hated that he was Black” and had a “racially charged” dislike against his father who he had reportedly beaten before.

Martin had reportedly been released from a mental health facility hours before the murders. Per ABC7, he had been admitted to the facility after he threatened his father.

Martin could receive the death penalty.
