Marilyn Manson, real name Brian Hugh Warner, recently filed the lawsuit against his ex, for defamation, emotional distress, and “impersonation over the internet” after Wood accused him of sexual assault. In the HBO Max two-part documentary “Phoenix Rising”, Wood discussed the alleged abuse she endured while dating the singer and said she was groomed after she met him for the first time. She also claimed he sexually assaulted her on-camera during a music video for the 2007 song, “Heart-Shaped Glasses” as reported by The Blast.

The actress said she is not scared of the lawsuit but she’s not surprised by Manson’s actions after she spoke out about their former relationship.  “I am sad because this is how it works. This is what pretty much every survivor that tries to expose someone in a position of power goes through,” she said to co-host Sunny Hostin during her appearance on The View.

“This is part of the retaliation that keeps survivors quiet. This is why people don’t want to come forward. This was expected. I’m very confident that I have the truth on my side and that the truth will come out.”

She also claims the lawsuit was planned ahead of her documentary.

“I’m doing this to sound the alarm that there’s a dangerous person out there, and I don’t want anybody getting near him. People can think what they want about me. I have to let the legal process run its course. I’m steady as a rock.”
