Eva Marcille shared her thoughts on Nicki Minaj not being nominated for a Grammy after the full list of nominees for next year’s awards ceremony was revealed. Despite landing multiple chart entries with her songs “Do We Have A Problem” and “Super Freaky Girl,” the Recording Academy decided not to acknowledge either for an actual nomination.
Eva passionately defended Nicki as she ranted over the fact that the “Hard White” hitmaker has yet to attain one Grammy despite her long reign as one of the best-selling and most awarded female rappers of all time. “[She] been deserved a Grammy,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said.

“Y’all stop playing. Y’all play too much. And then you think it’s cute, and it’s social media — y’all play too much,” she reiterated. “The male rappers can go out and say and do whatever, and pop whatever, however, and it’s cool, right? […] She been deserved her Grammy.” As for her thoughts on Latto’s nomination, Eva continued, “I’m here for lil mama, but please, don’t think it can’t be more than one Queen in the building.”
Nicki became one of the biggest trending topics on Twitter on Tuesday, with many people in disbelief that throughout her 12-year-long career, she has yet to be awarded a Grammy. Despite her accolades and multi-platinum singles, such as “Super Bass,” which was certified Diamond for sales of more than 10 million, the Recording Academy has snubbed her each and every time.
Nicki and her fans seem to believe that she’s been blackballed from the awards ceremony over a fallout with one of the executive producers back in 2012.
Regardless of what people may think of the New Yorker, she has certainly paid her dues — especially at a time when the rap industry was still male-dominated. Socialites, what do you think, should Nicki been nominated for at least one award, and are you shocked to hear she has yet to win a Grammy?
