After almost five years of marriage, Eva Marcille has called it quits and reportedly filed for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband Michael Sterling. The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star is believed to have filed the court papers on March 23 at the Superior Court in Fulton County, citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.”

Marcille and Sterling share two children, Michael Todd Sterling Jr. and Maverick, though it’s unclear whether the pair have reached a custody agreement as of yet. “Happy Anniversary Mr. Sterling. Four years married, almost [eight] years in love and a lifetime to go,” she wrote. “You are my every breath, the best decision I’ve ever made. I love you Baby.” When Sterling took to the comment section, telling Marcille just how much he loved her, she replied, “I’m so in love with you sir.” #Socialites, are y’all surprised by their split?

Marcille and Sterling first met through mutual friends in Atlanta in 2017. At the time, Eva was a single mother to her daughter Marley Rae, while Michael was a lawyer and former mayoral candidate in Atlanta. They hit it off almost immediately and started dating soon after.

Their relationship quickly became serious, with the couple frequently sharing pictures of each other on social media and attending events together. In an interview with BravoTV, Eva revealed that Michael had made a big impression on her early on in their relationship. She said, “I love the way that Michael loves me.

He’s very thoughtful, very intentional, very loving. And I’ve never had that before.”

Michael proposed to Eva on Christmas Day in 2017, and the couple got married ten months later in October 2018. The wedding was a lavish affair, with friends and family in attendance, and the couple’s daughter Marley Rae serving as the flower girl. The wedding ceremony was held in Atlanta, and the reception was at the Southern Exchange Ballrooms.

Eva looked stunning in a custom-made wedding dress designed by Daughters of Nonyelum, while Michael looked dapper in a black tuxedo. The wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, and the couple seemed to be very much in love.

Despite the seemingly perfect relationship, Eva and Michael’s marriage was not without its challenges. In various interviews, Eva had hinted that the couple had their share of disagreements and struggles. In an interview with BET, she said, “It’s not perfect. We’re two individuals coming together with two different ideas, and we’re trying to make it work.”

One of the major issues in their marriage was their living situation. Eva lived in Los Angeles with her daughter Marley Rae, while Michael was based in Atlanta. This meant that they had to spend a lot of time apart, which put a strain on their relationship. Eva also revealed in an interview with BravoTV that Michael had a hard time adjusting to life in Los Angeles and missed his old life in ATL.
