Filming for Euphoria Season 3 has been confirmed to start next year, amid rumors about the show’s future and returning cast members.

On Friday, Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of programming at HBO and head of HBO drama series and films, announced that shooting for Season 3 of Euphoria is set to begin in January 2025. “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam [Levinson] and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans,” she said. Filming for the high school drama will start nearly three years after the premiere of Season 2. As reported by TOO FAB, fans and media critics have reportedly been anticipating a narrative time jump.
HBO has confirmed that Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer will return. Still, others, such as Barbie Ferriera, announced her departure from the show on Instagram in August 2022, and Angus Cloud sadly passed away in July 2023. In March, the cast was released from their obligations to the delayed show to pursue other opportunities, contributing to the uncertainty surrounding the show’s return.

The cast has been relatively secretive about the show’s return. At the premiere of Zendaya’s Challengers in April, she explained the new season to Variety.
“If it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course. But it’s beyond me.”
Storm Reid expressed a similar sentiment, saying the cast was eager to return to the set and hoped to start filming soon. Hunter Schafer said she missed working with her cast mates and praised them for their success.
“I just really miss everybody. Everyone is doing very well in their careers right now. Everyone’s kind of blown up, and so with that comes people traveling a lot. Whatever happens, I’m just excited to get back together once it’s time and catch up and hang out.”
Fans also believe that Season 3 will reportedly drop in Fall 2025, but the details regarding the date are unclear. However, some fans still had mixed feelings regarding the show’s return.
