Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika Kirk Tearfully Watches Old Video Of Him, Reveals Toddlers Still Ask For Him, Says She’s Not Afraid Of Anyone
Nearly two months after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, his wife of four years, Erika, 36, tears up while watching an old video of him, and while revealing their 3-year-old daughter is still asking about him and wanting to “visit him in heaven.” During an interview with Fox News‘ Jesse Watters, Erika opened up about her children’s response to the fatal shooting of their father.
During a September 12 press conference, Erika — who shares a 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son with Charlie — previously said she told her children that their dad “went on a work trip with Jesus.” At the time she said, “What do you tell a 3-year-old? She’s 3. said, ‘Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.'”
In her new interview with Watters, Erika confirmed her kids are still asking questions about Charlie and his absence. She said:
“My daughter continues to ask. But it’s really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. And I said, ‘If ever you want to talk to daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.’ And I told her, I said, ‘You know, daddy, daddy is in heaven.’ She goes, ‘You think I could go sometime?’ I said, ‘Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.'”
Erika and Charlie Kirk met in 2018. In December 2020, they got engaged and tied the knot in May 2021. In August 2022, they welcomed their daughter and in May 2024, they welcomed their son. Charlie died weeks after celebrating their daughter’s 3rd birthday.
While looking at an old video of Charlie, Erika also broke down in tears. Trying to compose herself, she said that the video was the longest one she’s seen of her husband since his passing. When asked if she signed up to help Charlie “on his mission to save Western civilization,” she said, “No.” She added, “I didn’t sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life.”
When asked if she was afraid at all, she fired back:
“What are they going to threaten me with? Going to heaven sooner to be with my husband? And I don’t say that to be reckless. I do not. I do not say that because I’m out in the streets, like, ‘Here I am. Come find me.’ That’s not at all… It’s a fearlessness that’s rooted in the understanding that I will have my day and my time. Whenever that is. When the Lord knows that…it’s…I’ve completed my mission. And I’m not afraid. Charlie wasn’t afraid either. We never lived in fear. If we did, we’d never get anything done.”
