Former En Vogue and Lucy Pearl singer Dawn Robinson is clapping back at Jermaine Dupri over his comments about her “choosing to be homeless” and having an assistant while living in her car.
As we previously shared, Dawn Robinson sent shockwaves across the internet with a raw revelation the other week. She told fans that for the past three years, she has been living in her car.
The news hit the internet hard, with fans worrying that she was homeless and needed help to get back on her feet. However, Robinson later cleared things up and said that wasn’t necessarily the case. But, before her clarification, she began receiving helping hands — including a pair from her ex-husband, Andre Allen.
Dawn Robinson’s Ex-Husband Offers Her A Job After She Reveals Car-Living Situation
Allen and Robinson were married from 2003 to 2010. In an exclusive statement to TMZ Hip Hop, Allen said he wants to help out his ex-wife, despite how rocky things were between them. He claimed that she would be a perfect fit for the Hilton Brands. He offered her a job in hopes of shifting her situation.

Allen, who’s now engaged to another woman, said his life has changed drastically since leaving the music industry. He claimed he’s been making more money now than ever before. He even shared that he’s loaned cash to some pretty big names in the game — people who’ve come up short despite their fame. And now, he was ready to help out his ex-wife.
Allen said he didn’t want her to see the same fate as others who he’s helped out. He said the job offer isn’t just about a paycheck, but that it comes with other benefits, like free medical from day one, plus PTO to juggle her career. He also revealed that he’s already shared this idea with her before, but this time, he’s urging her to take it seriously.

Dawn Robinson Slams Jermaine Dupri Over His Comments About Her ‘Choosing To Live In Her Car’
In addition to her ex-husband speaking out, entertainment mogul and legendary producer Jermaine Dupri shared his two cents about Dawn Robinson’s living situation. In an Instagram Live, he claimed that Robinson made the “choice” to live in her car. He also questioned her situation after she mentioned that she has an assistant while living in her car.
Dawn caught wind of JD’s remarks and told fans, “He doesn’t know me, so he’s a non-factor. I stay happy.” She added, “Crazy thing is, I never asked him or ANYONE for money lol! Some people just need attention.” She further told fans, “I don’t need or expect sympathy lol! There’s nothing to sympathize about, but thanks for ALL the love.”
Following her initial clap back to the criticism, Dawn Robinson is doubling down. She appeared on Angela Yee’s ‘Way Up’ radio show and again fired back at the critics and Jermaine Dupri.
