Elon Musk might start charging everyone who uses the Twitter/X app to pay a fee, according to Variety.

Musk, reportedly had a long conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday and spoke about another new feature that he’s looking to add to the app. Bloomberg’s Dave Lee shared the news to his X account and the message read: “Elon Musk revisiting an idea apparently floated privately in the past — charging *everyone* to use Twitter. A lower tier than premium. ‘We’ve moving to a small monthly payment for use of the X system,’ he just told Benjamin Netanyahu, saying it’s only way to stamp out bots.”

As we all know currently, X’s subscription program — formerly Twitter Blue, which is now referred to X Blue is priced at $8 per month which allows users to receive a blue check.

In more recent news, Musk also revealed that audio and video calls will soon be introduced. Musk made the big announcement last week and listed some of the feature’s traits: It will work on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC, he wrote, and no phone number will be needed.

“Video & audio calls coming to X:
– Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC
– No phone number needed
– X is the effective global address book,” the tweet read. Now, Musk didn’t say anything about when the feature might launch. However, he just noted that it’s “coming.”

Many users on the app have been confused by his recent changes and upset that the app is transitioning like this. Even some celebrities have spoken out about Elon Musk and his recent changes. Dionne Warwick recently reacted to the news about Musk removing the blocking feature from the app. As we previously reported, Musk made the announcement when he shared a tweet that read: “Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs,” Musk recently said. He followed up with another post saying, “It makes no sense.” Well Warwick has given her opinion on the change and said she wants to have a convo with him. “I have yet to speak to that young man and I intend to because I am not quite sure what he’s doing or if he knows what he’s doing,” Warwick, 82 said. “So until that happens, I’ll reserve my answer to that question.”

“I have to meet him,” Warwick continued to tell the news outlet. “I know a lot of people have walked away from Twitter. That’s prior to knowing exactly what he’s going to do. He’s new to the game.” She continued: “His attitude is freedom of speech, which is mine as well. However, there’s a way to do it. That’s one of the conversations I’m going to have with him. What is your true intent? I understand your freedom of speech attitude but how are you going to contain it, so it does not get out of hand?”
