Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk is slamming Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) — whom he calls a “huge jerk and creep” — over his “evil” Tesla stock joke as “Tesla Takedown” protests happen all around the world.
Earlier this month, during a town hall in Wisconsin, Walz said he looks at the stock of the electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, to “boost his mood.”
Tim Walz also criticized Elon Musk amid the sweeping workforce cuts and federal funding freezes issued by Donald Trump and his administration’s newly-launched agency Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — which is headed by Musk — in recent weeks. Walz said:
“There’s this thing on my phone — I know some of you know this — on the iPhone. They’ve got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day. 225 and dropping. And if you own one, we’re not blaming you. You can take dental floss, and pull the Tesla thing off, you know? I’m just telling you.”
Later, Walz ended up walking back his comments. He claimed he was just being a “smarta**” and “making a joke.”
Elon Musk Calls Tim Walz A ‘Huge Jerk’ After Joking About Tesla Stock Falling
During a recent interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Elon Musk reacted to Tim Walz’s “evil” Tesla stock joke and called him a “huge jerk” and a “creep.” Musk spoke with Baier about the criticism he receives as a serial entrepreneur working in the government with government contracts. He said:
“It’s actually disadvantageous for me to be in the government. Not advantageous. If I wasn’t in the government, I could lobby. I could push for things that are advantageous to my companies and probably receive them. My companies are suffering because I’m in the government. Do you think it could help sales if dealerships are getting firebombed? Of course not. And Tesla customers are being intimidated all over the country, and all over Europe. Does that help Tesla?
I mean, you have Tim Walz, who’s a huge jerk, running around on stage with the Tesla stock price—where the stock price had gone in half—and he was overjoyed. What an evil thing to do. What a creep. What a jerk. Like, who derives joy from that? And it was pointed out to him that actually, no, Minnesota State Pension Fund is a major investor in Tesla. But, he didn’t care. He was so overjoyed by Tesla stock going in half. Does that sound like a good person to you? I don’t think so.”
