It was a name many of us has never heard before. But Grimes took to Twitter shortly after the big announcement to help fans understand what the baby’s name actually means. She explained, “•X, the unknown variable ⚔️ •Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) •A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent 🤍 + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (⚔️🐁 metal rat),” the Canadian singer explained.”

While some people were still left a little confused, the two also had a problem with the name because it wasn’t technically legal in California. As we previously reported, an approved name can only use the 26 alphabetical characters of the English language. Grimes revealed that the new name for their baby is “X Æ A-Xii,” after a fan asked on Instagram. She later added, “Roman numerals. Looks better tbh.” She also noted that California permits one dash in a name.

Still, It’s unclear whether the famous couple has finally come to an agreement about how to pronounce their son’s name.
