Has Elmo finally had enough of Donald Trump like many of us? That’s what it looked like after some wild posts popped up on his X account — but the lovable Sesame Street puppet wasn’t the one airing the president out. As suspected, he got hacked, and whoever took over was clearly on one.

One of the hacked tweets exploded online, reading:

“Elmo says ALL JEWS SHOULD D*e. FK JEWS. DONALD TRUMP IS NETANYAHU’S PUPPET BECAUSE HE IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES. JEWS CONTROL THE WORLD AND NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED.”**

Another tweet pushed even further, stating: “RELEASE THE FILES @realDonaldTrump CHILD FR.”

Needless to say, the internet went into a frenzy trying to figure out whether this was a stunt, satire, or a dangerous security breach — and unfortunately, it was the latter.

The tweets come on the heels of growing scrutiny over Donald Trump’s past ties to Jeffrey Epstein — a controversial and now-deceased financier and convicted sex offender whose social circles allegedly included several powerful elites. Recently, the U.S. Justice Department confirmed that there is no official “Epstein client list,” despite years of public pressure demanding transparency.

What Is the Epstein ‘Client List’ — And Why Trump Keeps Getting Dragged Into It

For those unfamiliar, the “Epstein client list” refers to a rumored document or log that supposedly contains the names of powerful individuals who either flew on Epstein’s private jet, visited his infamous private island, or were somehow tied to his web of trafficking and abuse.

Although many of the names that have publicly surfaced — including celebrities, politicians, and businessmen — were tied to Epstein through travel records or social gatherings, there has never been any confirmed “client list” released by the courts. In fact, the Justice Department’s latest statement reiterates that no such list even exists.

Still, conspiracy theories have continued to float around online, and Trump’s name is often at the center of them. While Trump has acknowledged knowing Epstein and even being photographed with him multiple times in the early 2000s, he has since claimed he distanced himself years before Epstein’s downfall.

But that hasn’t stopped critics from speculating. This latest Elmo-related hack only adds fuel to that fire — even if it’s coming from a bad actor and not the puppet himself.

Sesame Workshop Responds Swiftly: “Disgusting Messages” Not From Elmo

Not long after the tweets started going viral, Sesame Workshop — the nonprofit behind Sesame Street — released a brief but powerful statement making it crystal clear that Elmo wasn’t the one dragging Trump or calling for violence.

“Elmo’s X account was compromised today by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts. We are working to restore full control of the account,” a spokesperson told the press.

While the statement didn’t name Trump or reference the Epstein claims directly, the organization stood firm in rejecting the hateful rhetoric, which violates everything the Sesame Street brand stands for — education, inclusion, and joy for children.

As Sesame Workshop works to get things back under control, many are calling on X to do better. For now, Elmo’s fans are holding him down and reminding the world that this puppet was just caught in the crossfire of some evil internet trolls.
