Hollywood Unlocked got a chance to be at the premiere for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and speak with some big celebrities.

While on the red carpet we got a chance to speak with the writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein about what they want fans to take from the film after watching it. “We want fans and none fans to take away a good time” Daley said. “This is who we made it for and this is the intention that we had when we were making it. You’re going to feel like you’re going on ride and you’re being transported to another world. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll forget about your life for two hours.” A lot of fans were curious if you needed to know the history of Dungeons and Dragon in order to understand the film, but Goldstein assured fans that “You don’t need to know much about D&D to enjoy it.”

Legendary actor, Chris Pine plays Edgin, a bard and thief who leads a ragtag bunch to steel treasure, with the rule that no one gets hurt. He and Holga (Michelle Rodriguez) who has played in the legendary film Fast & Furious are captured and imprisoned. A member of his crew, Forge (Hugh Grant), agrees to raise Edgin’s daughter, which he does, but also has turned her against her father.

With the help of an evil wizard, Sophina (Daisy Head, who is great and legitimately sinister) has amassed great power and fortune. Now Edgin must put together a new crew to break into Forge’s lair and win back his daughter and in the process, steal all Forge’s treasure. This movie is truly the definition of “action packed fun.”

Another celeb that fans are hyped to see in this film is Justice Smith, who has played in Pokemon Detective Pikachu, The Get Down and more. Before seeing the film, we chatted with Smith to ask him about the character he plays and what enjoyed most while filming. “Doing the magic was a lot of fun as a kid I’ve always wanted to have magic powers I feel like everyone has had a moment where they’re sitting on the couch telekinesis the remote towards them. So actually getting to gesture in the direction of stunt men and they actually react it was honestly a dream come true.”
