Dua Lipa has given up on smoking cigarettes in a bid to improve her stamina and overall health amid her Future Nostalgia world tour, the singer has revealed. Dua, who concluded her final show on her UK leg earlier this week, shared in an interview with The Sun that she feels “invincible” now that she’s ditched tobacco. “I had laryngitis in December and that kind of kickstarted me quitting smoking a month earlier than I was supposed to. But I did it and I have stuck to it,” she gushed.
“I have this habit tracker on my phone where every night I tick off all the good things I have done for my body and things I have done for myself.” Dua claims to have noticed a drastic improvement in her health, having also turned to regular exercising and healthy eating to keep herself in the best shape possible while on the road.

The Don’t Start Now pop star had previously opened up about her struggle to feel confident on stage when she wasn’t treating her body right, explaining on her At Your Service podcast that her new fitness regime has helped her to retain more energy to get through her lengthy sets for each show. “I feel like when I get up on stage there is a different kind of confidence and, you know, I feel very invincible at times when I am performing.”
She continued, “I feel so excited and there is a lot of adrenaline – and sometimes I don’t feel confident at all. There are moments when I am on stage every night and, yeah I am quite exposed, and I am dancing and performing and I feel like I have to work out and stay really healthy in order to feel good about myself.”
December appeared to have been quite a big month for Dua, who not only gave up smoking but also ended her two-year relationship with model Anwar Hadid. According to People, the former couple decided to take a break, agreeing to “spend time apart” to “figure things out,” though it’s unclear whether they plan to reconcile in the future.
Their romance was said to have reached a hard-hitting time due to their busy schedules, with Anwar working on his modeling career while Dua geared up to kick off her tour, which commenced in February and will continue until November, with its last show in Perth, Australia. With six months to go, the British vocalist has already amassed over $40 million in ticket sales, giving a clear indication that once the tour wraps later this year, she will have generated an estimated $100 million from 61 shows.
Dua is one of the best-selling pop stars in music, having already sold over 40 million singles since her rise to superstardom with her self-titled debut album in 2017.
