Three people were reportedly injured at singer Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia concert in Toronto on Wednesday after a fan is said to have set off fireworks inside the Scotiabank Arena where the show was being held. According to PEOPLE, police responded to a call at 11:42 PM, that someone had lit up fireworks right as the “Levitating” singer was wrapping up her set.

While no ambulances were called to the scene, sources say three people suffered minor injuries and were treated by on-site medics. Concertgoers said they initially thought the fireworks were part of the show as a small chunk of confetti from the concert was still flying through the air when the incident occurred — but they quickly realized that the fireworks were not part of production.

“It was at the end, during her final song, and confetti was already out, so we thought it was part of the finale,” one fan who attended the show said.. “No one was phased by it other than the people in the pit, [but it was] hella scary.” Police are still investigating the matter and no arrests have been made as of yet.

Law enforcement officers are working with the arena and security to view surveillance footage, hoping that they will find the person responsible for the reckless act.

Furthermore, a spokesperson for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the company which owns the arena, assured that all concertgoers are always scanned through metal detectors before entering the venue, which is why they, too, have been baffled as to how the fans was able to sneak fireworks inside the show.

In a statement, they said, “Last night, at the end of a concert event at Scotiabank Arena, unauthorized and illegal fireworks were set off on the arena floor by a member of the audience. As a result, three attendees received minor aid on-site and were able to go home without a need for further medical attention.

“As one of the premier venues in North America, creating a safe and secure venue for every attendee at Scotiabank Arena is MLSE’s top priority and we immediately began working in cooperation with Toronto Police Services to fully investigate this reckless and dangerous act. As always, we thank Toronto Police Services, the on-site medical team, employees, and concert attendees for their swift support in responding to this incident.”

Interestingly enough, fireworks are listed as a prohibited item at Scotiabank, which fans would have seen by the flyer of things they aren’t allowed to bring inside before entering the venue. Anyone who does possess an item that’s categorized as forbidden is usually refused entry.
