According to the New York Post, 49-year-old Orlando Cordia Hall was put to death via lethal injection at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Hart, Indiana. Before his imprisonment, Hall was a marijuana trafficker and ran a business in Arkansas but drove to Arlington, Texas in 1994 over a failed drug transaction.

Hall and his accomplices blamed a man for stealing $4,700 and kidnapped his 16-year-old sister Lisa Rene after she refused to let them into the home. He drove to a nearby hotel where he and two other men continuously raped her before burying her in a shallow grave at the Byrd Natural Lake Area in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Before her death, Hall placed a sheet over Rene’s head and attacked her with a shovel. He was later convicted in 1995 and sentenced to death by lethal injection. The teen’s family said she was a straight-A student who had dreams of becoming a surgeon

A statement was released by Rene’s sister after learning about Hall’s execution. She says, “We have been dealing with this for 26 years and now we’re having to relive the tragic nightmare that our beloved Lisa went through. Ending this painful process will be a major goal for our family. This is only the end of the legal aftermath. The execution of Orlando Hall will never stop the suffering we continue to endure. Please pray for our family as well as his.”
