Drake Withdraws His 2021 Grammy Nominations

Socialites, get into this: According to Variety, Drake has withdrawn his two Grammy nominations. A rep for the Recording Academy confirmed the news to the outlet.

As of right now, it’s completely unclear why, but sources tell Variety that the decision was actually made by Drake himself and his management.

The rap star was nominated for Best Rap Album for his “Certified Lover Boy” album as well as Best Rap Performance for his song “Way 2 Sexy” (featuring Future and Young Thug). The news site notes that instead of giving “a nomination to the recipient of the sixth-most votes, as the Academy did when it suddenly decided to expand the top four categories from eight to 10 last month, the voting will go forward with just four nominees.” Grammy ballots were posted on Monday morning and the Grammy website is expected to be updated soon, removing Drake’s nominations, Variety reports.

Drake has not publicly spoken out yet on these reports. Until then, let us know your thoughts on this in the comment box below!
