Drake Officially Ordered To Be Deposed In XXXTentacion Murder Trial After Defense Attorney Blames Him For Killing

Earlier this week, we reported that defense attorney Mauricio Padilla — who represents one of the three defendants in the case, 26-year-old Dedrick Williams — has placed blame on Drake and is trying to connect him to X’s murder.

The defense attorney brought up the two rappers publicly feuding, and X previously claiming on social media that if anything ever happened to him, “it was Drake.” A post read, “If anyone tries to kill me it was @ champagnepapi [Drake’s Instagram handle]. I’m snitching right now.”

While these unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about Drake having a role in X’s murder have continued to circle the internet, prosecutors have yet to argue that Drake was ever involved in X’s death.

Instead, they claim that 20-year-old X, born Jahseh Onfroy, was simply, yet tragically, a victim of being ambushed, robbed and killed outside of a motorcycle store on June 18, 2018.

The defense attorney who’s placing blame on Drake, previously tried to subpoena the rapper for a deposition in late January, proposing that he was properly served, however, he never ended up showing up for court.

Since then, Padilla is now petitioning the court for an “order to show cause,” which the presiding judge has just granted as of Thursday (February 9).

According to Rolling Stone, the order claims that due to Drake failing to appear for the January deposition, he “shall appear for a deposition” on Friday, February 24.

Additionally, “If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”
