Dr. Umar Johnson is trending again, and this time it’s for comments that struck a nerve with the internet. In a video making its rounds online, the Pan-Africanist and school psychologist admitted he will not walk his daughter down the aisle if she chooses to marry a woman.
This moment comes on the heels of a very public dispute between Dr. Umar and the mother of his second daughter, whom he calls “Miss Vegan.” Just last week, Umar hopped on Instagram Live to air out frustrations. He claimed that although he’s been present in court and keeping up with child support payments, “Miss Vegan” is still keeping his daughter away from him.
“I Don’t Agree With That At All But I Love You”: Dr. Umar’s Comments On LGBTQ+ Marriage
In the new video, Dr. Umar laid his truth bare, explaining why he would not support a same-sex marriage involving his daughter, whom he affectionately referred to as “baby Smurf.”
“Baby Smurf if you are marrying a man that I approve of I will walk you down the aisle if you would like. I understand that you have been drafted into the rainbow army, I don’t agree with that at all but I love you as my child and it will not affect our relationship but do not ever ask me to co-sign or support something that I am vehemently against. I will not walk you down the aisle if you marry a woman.”
While many have taken to social media to weigh in on Umar’s views, he made it clear that, while his love for his daughter remains unconditional, his moral beliefs remain unmoved.
Ultimatum To “Miss Vegan”: Child Support Drama Intensifies
As if that wasn’t enough, Dr. Umar added fuel to the fire when he addressed “Miss Vegan” directly. He gave her a warning with an eclipse-deadline twist:
“You have until the eclipse of March 29. If I do not meet and see my child by Saturday, March 29, Miss Vegan, I will be going live and I’m going to tell the whole world information you don’t want them to know.”
He also said there’s an upcoming child support hearing because she “wants more money.” However, Umar was quick to clarify that he’s not focused on finances but rather on seeing and bonding with his child.
So far, “Miss Vegan” has remained silent publicly. But with the eclipse date quickly approaching, many are wondering what he plans to reveal and how far this family conflict will go.
Allegations From Daughter Anisa Reignite Old Wounds
But that’s not all. This new drama runs parallel to a longer-standing rift between Dr. Umar and his other daughter, Anisa. The young woman has been vocal about her father’s alleged absence and even accused him of physically abusing her mother.
Dr. Umar has since responded, urging his followers to “pick a side,” and said he would only respond to Anisa’s claims if “Mama Smurf” — the mother in question — was present to face him.
“There is a little piece of silver lining in the whole mama smurf, baby smurf scandal… dishonesty and revenge tour… The only silver lining is ya’ll making me go after my baby girl 50 times harder.”
