During a segment on ABC’s This Week, Dr. Fauci said that there are enough Americans who are vaccinated to prevent a repeat of last year’s worse outbreaks but there’s not enough to fully beat the pandemic.

You know what we really need to do, Jon, we say it over and over again and it’s the truth — we have 100 million people in this country who are eligible to be vaccinated who are not getting vaccinated. We are seeing an outbreak of the unvaccinated,” he told co-anchor, Jonathan Karl.

He added on the show that those who are vaccinated are protected from experiencing severe symptoms and hospitalization but the unvaccinated are more vulnerable.
“And getting us back to normal, the unvaccinated, by not being vaccinated, are allowing the propagation and the spread of the outbreak which ultimately impacts everybody,”
