Dr. Fauci Awarded $1M Prize For Leadership On HIV/AIDS Relief & COVID-19 Vaccine Research
Dr. Fauci has recently been award a $1M prize for his leadership on HIV/AIDS relief and COVID-19 vaccine research, which he’s done all in the name of science.
Specifically, 80-year-old Fauci won the Dan David Prize via Israel’s Dan David Foundation. Fauci was the winner of one of three prizes based on recognition for “defending science” with his leadership in HIV research, AIDS relief and COVID-19 vaccines.

On Monday (Feb. 15), a representative for the foundation’s awards committee said, “As the COVID-19 pandemic unraveled, [Fauci] leveraged his considerable communication skills to address people gripped by fear and anxiety and worked relentlessly to inform individuals in the United States and elsewhere about the public health measures essential for containing the pandemic’s spread. [Fauci spoke] truth to power in a highly charged political environment.”
Recently, Facui has stated, “One of the things that was very clear as recently as about 15 minutes ago—when I was with the president—is that one of things that we’re going to do is to be completely transparent, open, and honest. If things go wrong, not point fingers, but correct them, and make everything we do based on science and evidence.”
