“We ensure fees are disclosed throughout the customer experience, including on each restaurant storepage and before checkout. Building this trust is essential, and it’s why the majority of delivery orders on our platform are placed by return customers,” a spokesperson said to the outlet.

The price of food on DoorDash is determined by several factors, including the restaurant, the type of food, and the distance the food has to travel. In general, food prices on DoorDash are slightly higher than the prices at the restaurant. This is because DoorDash charges restaurants a commission for each order placed through the app.
In addition to the food price, DoorDash also charges a delivery fee. The delivery fee is typically between $2 and $5, based on the distance the food travels. DoorDash also charges a service fee, typically between 10% and 20% of the order total.
DashPass is available in over 4,000 cities in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. To sign up for DashPass, go to the DoorDash website or app and click on the “DashPass” tab. You can also sign up for a free 30-day trial.
Twitter users also reacted to the suit, and some explained how they saw the difference in surcharges in the app. Additionally, several users mentioned they noticed a similar practice with Uber Eats.
