Donald Trump’s FBI Director Christopher Wray Confirms Russia Is Already Interfering With 2020 Election
Donald Trump-appointed FBI Director Christopher Wray confirms Russia is already interfering with the 2020 election as they did in 2016, adding that they’re engaging in “active efforts” to influence this year’s.
On Thursday (Sept. 17), Wray testified in front of the House Homeland Security Committee and stated Russia’s goal in this November’s election is to “denigrate” Democratic nominee Joe Biden. Wray explains that Russians have turned to social media, “proxies, state media, online journals” and more to hurt Biden’s chances and strengthen Trump’s.

Wray’s testimony arrives amid Trump and his allies’ claims that China is meddling in the election to help get Biden elected. Additionally, reports last week claimed Microsoft discovered hackers with ties to Russia, China and Iran attempted to interfere with the election.
Additionally, Trump ally and Attorney General William Barr adamantly disputes these claims of Russia engaging in such activity. He recently asserted, “I accept that there is some preliminary activity that suggests that they might try again. It wouldn’t surprise me if Russia tries something again of the same general genre before.”
