Donald Trump Tests Negative For The Coronavirus

President Donald Trump has revealed his results after announcing earlier that he would take the test to see if he had the novel coronavirus.

According to PEOPLE, a statement was released by White House physician Navy Cmdr. Sean Conley saying that President Trump tested negative for the virus. He says the president is symptom-free a week after interacting with foreign officials in Brazil.

“Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing, he elected to proceed. This evening I received confirmation that the test is negative. One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free. I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation.”

Earlier today, Trump said during a White House press conference that he decided to take the test after the public wondered why he didn’t want to discuss it and had his temperature taken beforehand.

“I took the test last night. I decided I should based on the press conference yesterday, people were asking ‘Did I take the test?’ ”

In the United States, there are currently 2,195 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. There is a strict urgency for everyone to take healthier precautions in order to prevent the virus from spreading rapidly.
