Welp… It Don’t Look Like a Kumbaya’s Happening Between Trump and Elon Anytime Soon

Welp, it doesn’t look like a Kumbaya will be happening between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk any time soon…

While speaking to reporters early Tuesday morning as he departed the White House to visit an immigration detention facility in Florida, the President was asked if Musk — a naturalized American citizen who originally hails from South Africa — could be deported in retaliation for his attacks on the “One Big Beautiful Bill” currently being debated in the Senate.

Trump replied,

“I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look.” Then he added, “We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon,” he said.

Trump Took It To Truth Social… Because Of Course He Did

Now y’all know Trump didn’t stop there.

He also took to Truth Social this morning to get more off his chest about his former buddy:

“Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”

Whew. The shade, the threat, and the drama — all wrapped in one post.

So What’s Elon Musk’s Deal Anyway?

As we previously reported on Hollywood Unlocked, Elon Musk — the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX — has been big mad over the Senate’s proposed environmental legislation. He’s been dragging the bill for cutting electric vehicle subsidies while still throwing money at fossil fuel giants.

Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to let his feelings be known:

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.”

Elon wasn’t holding back, and clearly, that didn’t sit well with Trump. Especially now that their bromance is fully out the window.

These Two Have Been At It All Month

Let’s be clear — this isn’t new tension. Trump and Elon been beefin’ for weeks, ever since Musk’s “DOGEW” role at the White House came to an end. Some insiders say Elon had too much influence in tech policy decisions during his time there — and others say Trump felt Musk was becoming more of a liability than an asset.

Now with public shots being fired from both ends, it’s clear these two aren’t letting up anytime soon. Trump wants him gone. Musk thinks Trump’s a fraud. And the people? We’re just here with our popcorn.

At this point, it’s less about EV mandates and more about egos clashing at the top. Trump and Musk are both used to being the loudest voice in the room — but now, they’re using their platforms to try and cancel each other in real time.

Whether Trump is serious about trying to deport Elon or just blowing smoke to flex his power, one thing is clear: this feud has officially entered new territory.
