It looks like an official debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is finally happening as Trump confirms he has “reached an agreement” on rules for their September 10 debate on ABC News.

For months Trump and Harris have been playing cat and mouse when it comes to the debate — we’ll let you figure out who is who! Earlier today we shared that on Monday (August 26), Donald Trump seemingly suggested that he might withdraw from the upcoming ABC News debate with Kamala Harris. He expressed concerns that the network is a “disgrace.”
While speaking at a Vietnamese restaurant in Falls Church, Virginia, Trump mentioned that he had observed the treatment of Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, during an episode of ABC News’ “This Week.” The segment aired on Sunday (August 25) and Trump said that he didn’t like what he saw. He told reporters, “When I looked at the hostility of that, I said, ‘Why am I doing it? Let’s do it with another network.’ I want to do it.”

When asked if he still plans to take part in the September 10 debate on ABC News, Trump replied, “We’re thinking about it. We’re thinking about it. They also want to change the rules. You know, the deal was we keep the same rules. Now, all of a sudden they want to make a change in the rules because she can’t answer questions … Why doesn’t she do something like I’m doing right now? She can’t talk. We can’t have another dummy as a president.”
Since his uncertainty, Donald Trump has since updated Americans. On Tuesday (August 27), Trump took to his Truth Social account and wrote, “I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”
Trump continued, “The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden. The Debate will be ‘stand up,’ and Candidates cannot bring notes, or ‘cheat sheets.’ We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!).”

Trump added, ”Harris would not agree to the Fox News Debate on September 4th, but that date will be held open in case she changes her mind or, flip flops, as she has done on every single one of her long-held and cherished policy beliefs. A possible third debate, which would go to NBC FAKE NEWS, has not been agreed to by the Radical Left. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
According to CNN, the rules will mostly reflect the same terms used by their network from the June 27 debate between Trump and President Biden. The news site reported that a source familiar with the matter confirmed to them that microphones will be muted as the other candidate speaks and there will be no studio audience present.
