Donald Trump Says American Jews Who Support Democrats Are ‘Disloyal’

Once again Donald Trump is under fire for his bold comments. This time, the President recently said Jewish Americans who vote for the Democratic Party show “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty,” and people are not here for his remarks.

Trump made that stamenent while speaking to the press in the Oval Office about two Democratic congresswomen who were barred from entering Israel over their involvement in the movement to end international support for the country because of its policies toward Palestinians, CNN reports.

“Five years ago, the concept of even talking about this — even three years ago — of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people — I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation,” Trump added. “Where has the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone where they’re defending these two people over the State of Israel?” He added, “I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat — it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

Trump did not go into specifics about what he considered to be Jews’ disloyalty, but to many, it appears his language was reminiscent of the anti-Semitic smear that Jews have a “dual loyalty” and are more devoted to Israel than they are to their own countries.

Presidential candidate Joe Biden spoke out on Trump’s latest remarks and said,

“Mr. President, these comments are insulting and inexcusable—just like your previous dual loyalty insinuations. Stop dividing Americans and disparaging your fellow citizens. It may not be beneath you, but it is beneath the office you hold.”
