Donald Trump Refuses To Unveil President Obama’s Portrait

Donald Trump is breaking tradition by refusing to hold an unveiling ceremony at the White House to unveil a portrait of his predecessor, President Obama.

According to NBC News, sources close to Trump say that it is very unlikely that the unveiling could take place under the current climate, and the issues between Trump and Obama.

“Presidential portrait unveilings are one of the three events that bring former presidents together. This level of animosity between a sitting president and his predecessors is unprecedented in modern history,” Kate Andersen Brower, told CNN.

The unveiling ceremony has been a tradition for over 40 years, where the current president has invited the former presidents to the White House for the ceremony. Trump would be the first to break the tradition.

Trump recently accused Obama of “the biggest political crime and scandal in the history of the USA,” but never explained why.

Obama on the other hand recently spoke of Trump’s lack of leadership handling the pandemic,

“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing,” Obama said. “A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”
